Matthew Costa PhD, FRCS (Tr&Orth)

Matt was appointed Professor of Orthopaedic Trauma, the University of Oxford in 2015. He was previously Professor of Trauma and Orthopaedics at the University of Warwick. Matt is also an Honorary Consultant Trauma Surgeon at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford.

Matt's research interest is in clinical and cost effectiveness of musculoskeletal interventions and he is Chief Investigator for a series of randomized trials and associated studies supported by grants from the UK National Institute of Health Research. His work has been cited widely and informs many guidelines from the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE).
