Dr. Matthew A. Rank is a Professor of Medicine and Consultant in the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, Allergy, and Sleep Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona. A board-certified allergist and immunologist, he is recognized internationally for his expertise in asthma, chronic rhinosinusitis, atopic dermatitis, drug allergies, and evidence-based allergy and immunology care. He serves as Chair of Evidence-Based Practice in the Mayo Clinic Robert D. and Patricia E. Kern Center for the Science of Health Care Delivery and is a leader in clinical research and guideline development.

Dr. Rank earned his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health and completed his residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship training in Allergy and Immunology at Mayo Clinic. He is board-certified in Allergy & Immunology and has dedicated his career to advancing patient-centered, evidence-based approaches to the management of allergic and immunologic diseases.

His research focuses on asthma, chronic rhinosinusitis, eosinophilic disorders, atopic dermatitis, and drug hypersensitivity reactions. Dr. Rank is particularly interested in translating clinical evidence into practice, developing treatment guidelines, and improving healthcare delivery through shared decision-making and outcomes research. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and has contributed extensively to national and international clinical practice guidelines.
