Matthew A. Mauro MD, FACR, FSIR, FAHA

Matthew A. Mauro, MD, is the Chairman of the Department of Radiology and Professor of Radiology and Surgery at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine and UNC Hospitals. He also serves as the CEO of the UNC Faculty Physicians (the clinical arm of the UNC School of Medicine). Dr. Mauro is an Interventional Radiologist with special interests in interventional oncology, uterine artery embolization, the management of vascular malformations, angioplasty and stenting, biliary drainage procedures, embolization and stent grafts.

He also supervises the resident rotation in Vascular/Interventional radiology; his involvement with the residency program includes lectures and one-on-one contact with the residents. He is a member and fellow of numerous radiological societies and has published extensively in various refereed journals. Dr. Mauro is also a clinical physician in the UNC Center for Heart and Vascular Care.
