Mathew Hoskins MBBCh, MSc, MRCPsych

Dr. Mat Hoskins is a psychiatrist and clinical lecturer in psychiatry who has lived and worked in Cardiff for most of his life. He has a special research interest in post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and psychedelic substances and has recently published a review of drug treatments for PTSD sponsored by the World Health Organisation. He is currently working with a team at Cardiff University to plan the first brain imaging study of the effects of MDMA in patients suffering from chronic, treatment-resistant PTSD. This will help us to understand how MDMA could potentially help patients and may lead to MDMA being used therapeutically in the future.
