Massimo Leone is currently working as a Neurologist at the IRCCS C. Besta Neurological Institute. He was a member of the Board of Directors of both the Italian Society of Neurology and the Italian Society of Headache Studies. He is a co-founder of the Neurological Association for Headache Research and of the Italian Headache Foundation.
The referee for international scientific journals, a member of the board of the International Headache Society Classification, and a lecturer at European and US universities.
Head of Neuroscience and Medical Education of the DREAM (Disease Relief through Excellent and Advanced Means) public health program for the prevention and treatment of HIV / AIDS and non-communicable diseases in 11 countries of sub-Saharan Africa. Director of the Neurology section of the Global Health Telemedicine international program.
Founder in charge of the Study Group of the Italian Society of Neurology “The Italian Society of Neurology and the developing countries of sub-Saharan Africa”. Responsible for the project that started the first Neuropediatric Center at the Central Hospital Maputo Mozambique. Project manager for the opening of new epilepsy centers in A
