Massimo Ferrigno, MD, is Chief of the Anesthesiology Institute at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. Previously, Dr. Ferrigno served on the staff of the Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative and Pain Medicine at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital and held the post of Associate Professor of Anesthesia at Harvard Medical School, prior to which he served as Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology and Physiology at the University of South Alabama.

Dr. Ferrigno received his Doctorate of Medicine, with honors, from the University of Genoa in Italy. He completed residency in Anesthesiology and a fellowship in Critical Care Medicine at Jackson Memorial Hospital at the University of Miami. Dr. Ferrigno also served as a Post-Doctoral Fellow in the Environmental Physiology Laboratory at the State University of New York in Buffalo, US.

Dr. Ferrigno has conducted research in diving, environmental and respiratory physiology, receiving funding from the American Lung Association, US department of Defense and US Navy, among other agencies.
