Mary Rose Day DN, MA, H. Dip PHN, BSc, Dip. Mang (RCSI), RM, RGN

Dr. Mary Rose Day is a Nurse Consultant and Expert Witness for Older People and Public Health Nursing. She is a guest lecturer at the School of Nursing and Midwifery in University College Cork where she taught and supervised research projects across postgraduate and undergraduate programmes with particular focus on older adults, and public health nursing/community nursing. She provides postgraduate interdisciplinary training on safeguarding older people with the School Nursing & Midwifery and School of Social Work in UCC. Mary Rose has held a range of nursing and management posts in acute, long term care and community settings. She has been the author of publications in peer reviewed/ non-peer reviewed journals; book chapters; reports and continually contributes to nursing/ social care and medical publications. She continually contributes to conferences and symposiums nationally and internationally on older people and community nursing.

She has been an invited speaker at several Safeguarding Adults and Self-Neglect conferences organised by Health Care Conferences, UK and the NHS in London during 2018. She co-ordinated the Ageing Research Cluster of the Institute for Social Sciences in the 21st Century from April 2014- January 2015. She is a nominated committee member of the All Ireland Gerontolgical Nurses Association and member of the Institute of Community Health Nursing (ICHN) and SIA Society of Nursing and Midwifery. She is reviewer for All Ireland Gerontolgical Nurses Journal, Archives of Psychiatric Nursing and Journal of Ageing and Social Policy. Mary Rose was awarded a Fellowship of Nursing & Midwifery by the Royal College of Surgeons in December 2017.
