Mary Lynch is a Professor in the Department of Anesthesia, Pain Management, and Perioperative Medicine at the Dalhousie University. She completed her Bachelor of Science and Medical Doctorate at Dalhousie University. Her Clinical Interests are Pharmacotherapy, Post-traumatic Stress, Psychotropics, and Pain management.

Dr. Lynch chaired the Canadian Pain Society (CPS) Wait Times Task Force and has gone on to Co-chair the CPS Task Force on Service Delivery and the Canadian Pain Strategy and serves as Past President of the CPS. Her research interests have focused on the development of new agents for the treatment of neuropathic pain including cannabinoids, integrative care in chronic pain management, development of wait-time benchmarks, and strategies for service delivery.

Dr. Lynch will be hosting a plenary session on day 1 to discuss Cannabinoids in clinical pain management: The Canadian experience, and on day 2 where she will be presenting on the topic of The opioid wars: Addressing the collateral damage.

Dr. Lynch will also be our special guest at the Meet the Speakers breakfast session that has been offered to junior researchers, Ph.D. students, and post-doctorate fellows. The aim of this session is to give younger scientists and clinicians an opportunity to ascertain career advice and guidance from the APS 2015 international plenary speakers.
