Mary Katherine Anderson PhD

Dr. Mary Kay Anderson is an Associate Professor of Nursing at the University of New Mexico. She earned a Ph.D. in Nursing from the University of Michigan twenty-plus years ago. She is also a Family Nurse Practitioner and Public Health Professional for more than 30 years. She has lived and worked as a Nurse Practitioner and faculty member in rural and urban areas of the US, in Germany, in southern Africa, in the Caribbean, and in Ecuador. She has been involved in practice and research and education at several universities and is currently in New Mexico and working for the College of Nursing. She is also a musician and shares a stand in the viola section of the HSC Orchestra, an avid hiker and bicycle rider, and enjoys gardening and preparing and eating delicious and healthy food. She and her husband have two children who are grown and married. They have two cats, which they dote on, while they wait for grandchildren.
