Mary-joanne Verhoef PhD, MD, MSc

Mary-Joanne Verhoef worked as a researcher at the Center of Expertise in Palliative Care of Leiden University Medical Center, the Netherlands. She currently finishing her thesis on opportunities to improve proactivity and patient empowerment in palliative care. Her research topics were targeted at end-of-life care education in the medical curriculum, timely identification of patients with palliative care needs, ED-initiated palliative care, and discussing current and possible future problems with patients and families.
