Mary Herold

Mary is aClinical Risk Manager at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, Washington DC.In her tenure at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital she has been a ClinicalManager for the Medical Intensive care and served as Chair of the first Safetyconference in 2011. Mary assisted MedStar Georgetown in the journey to become ahigh reliability organization (HRO) by training leaders, associates and medicalstaff in HRO: Error Prevention. As part of this journey, she has played aprominent role in creating an environment of Just Culture. Her passion hassurrounded patient and family engagement activities which led to the start ofthe Patient Family Advisory Council for Quality and Safety (PFACQS) at MedStarGeorgetown University Hospital in September 2014. Mary serves as the PFACQSSteering Committee Co-Chair.
