Mary Bebawy PhD

Dr. Mary Bebawy is a Director and Chair at the Sydney Institute of Health Sciences in Australia. She was a Professor in the discipline of Pharmacy and Heads the Laboratory of Cancer Cell Biology & Therapeutics, at the University of Technology Sydney. She is a founding member of the Graduate School of Health and Discipline of Pharmacy at UTS and was the inaugural Director of Research and Innovation at the UTS Graduate School of Health. She is currently Deputy Editor for the Journal of Extracellular Vesicles and is on the Editorial Advisory Board for Trends in Pharmacological Sciences.

Prof Bebawy has an active research portfolio focusing on the role of extracellular vesicles in cancer drug resistance pathways and as diagnostic biomarkers in cancer. She has published over 100 peer-reviewed research publications and holds an international patent for the use of extracellular vesicles as diagnostic biomarkers in cancer.
