Dr. Martin R. Schiller received a bachelor of arts degree from Hofstra University and a doctoral degree in biochemistry from Utah State University after postdoctoral fellowships at the University of Maryland College Park and the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. He was a fellow and eventually appointed to the faculty at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Schiller has served as a faculty member at the University of Connecticut Health Center and is now a full professor at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. His work is focused on short-functional peptides, bioinformatics, and HIV. Schiller’s research has resulted in 60 publications supported mostly by 12 research grants from the NIH. He has received several awards, produced a suite of bioinformatics tools, and is involved in the commercialization of some of his research projects. He is now the Executive Director of the Nevada Institute of Personalized Medicine.
