Martin J. Swaans MD, PhD

Dr. Martin Swaans graduated in medicine in 2005 from the University of Maastricht. After working at the Tweesteden Hospital in Tilburg, he became a cardiology resident at the St. Antonius Hospital in Nieuwegein. Antonius Hospital in Nieuwegein. Here he specialized in cardiac imaging with a specific focus on three-dimensional TEE during percutaneous structural heart interventions. He successfully defended his dissertation "Transcatheter cardiac interventions and the role of interventional echocardiography" in 2014. After a fellowship in cardiac imaging, he became a staff member of the St. Antonius hospital in Nieuwegein.
