Martin J. Schlumberger MD

Martin Schlumberger, Professor of Oncology at the University of Paris-Saclay, Martin Schlumberger was Head of the Nuclear Medicine and Endocrine Oncology Department at Gustave Roussy, as well as Director of the School of Cancer Sciences and the Doctoral School of Oncology at Paris-Saclay University.

His main fields of interest are the use of radioactive isotopes in medicine and the management of tumors of the thyroid and endocrine glands. He studied the mechanisms of tumorigenesis, the diagnostic and therapeutic management and follow-up of these patients, and the medico-economic evaluation of each of these phases. He participated in the assessment of the health risks of medical exposure to iodine 131 and the Chornobyl accident and in the organization of prophylaxis with potassium.
