Martin Schlumberger, 65 years, MD was trained in Paris and is board certified in endocrinology, nuclear medicine, and oncology. He is a Professor of Oncology at University Paris-Sud and chairs the Department of Nuclear Medicine and Endocrine Oncology at Gustave Roussy, Villejuif, France. His main fields of interest are the use of radioactive isotopes in medicine and the treatment of thyroid tumors. He has published 320 original articles and 80 review articles in English peer-review journals, and two books.
He is a member of the ATA taskforces for the recommendations for the diagnosis and treatment of differentiated and medullary thyroid cancers. He founded the Endocrine Tumor taskforce of the EORTC and linked it with the corresponding American group. He has received multiple awards from French, European and US Institutions. He was president of the International Thyroid Congress in Paris (3500 participants) in 2010.
