Dr. Martha Gulati, MD, MS, FACC, FAHA is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Cardiology at The Ohio State University. She is also the Sarah Ross Soter Chair in Womens Cardiovascular Health and the Section Director for Preventive Cardiology and Women’s Cardiovascular Health at The Ohio State University. She was previously the associate director of the Center for Women’s Cardiovascular Health at the Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute of Northwestern University until 2010, where she was the Lawrence E. and Nancy S. Glick Family Distinguished Physician in Women’s Cardiovascular Health. Her exceptional commitment to the study of women and cardiac diseases has won her numerous awards and distinctions, including being named by Crain’s Chicago Business as one of Chicago’s “Top 40 under 40,” a list that honors 40 outstanding individuals who have made a major impact in their respective industries before the age of 40.

Dr. Gulati is passionate about the study of women and heart disease with a specific interest in fitness and prevention. She is the principal investigator of the St. James Women Take Heart Project, a study examining cardiac risk factors in women, which set new standards for women’s fitness levels. She is also the principal investigator of the STILETTO Study, a randomized trial of women with Cardiac Syndrome X. She also is a co-investigator on theWomen Ischemic Syndrome Evaluation (WISE) study and previously served as a co-investigator on the Women’s Health Initiative (WHI). She is a co-author of the most recent guidelines published by the American Heart Association for heart disease prevention in women.
