Marsha Treadwell PhD

Dr. Treadwell has over 25 years of experience assisting children, families and communities in coping with stress, trauma, illness and loss. She focuses on strategies to foster resiliency and on health promotion in both resource rich and low-resource countries. Her research integrates physical, behavioral and psychological processes, allowing for the identification of risk and resiliency factors and the development of more effective interventions for vulnerable populations. She has worked on public health initiatives in Southern Africa, focused on orphans and vulnerable children affected by HIV/AIDS and in Ghana, on the National Newborn Screening Program for Sickle Cell Disease. Dr. Treadwell’s consultation, teaching and training align with the United Nations post Millennium Development Goals (MDG), with a focus on mental health and on improving coping with chronic medical conditions. She has specific expertise with community engagement and in conducting health care quality improvement projects, evaluating programs and assessing the quality of life for individuals and communities. She thus brings a depth and breadth of experiences to bear on global challenges.
