Markus Ketteler MD

Dr. Ketteler is currently Professor of Medicine and Head, Divison of Nephrology at University HospitalWurzburg, Oberdurrbacherstr. He has received MD degree from University of Heidelberg, Germany. His scientific interest areas are Role of nitric oxide and growth factors in the inflammation and progression of experimental glomerulonephritis, Pathomechanisms of vascular calcification in uremia: Role of calcification inhibitors (fetuin?A, matrix Gla protein) and new treatment approaches (vitamin K, anti?inflammatory approaches) / Bone disease in renal transplant recipients / Vitamin D and FGF23. He is Member of several editorial boards of peer?reviewed nephrology journals (including J Am Soc Nephrol, Kidney Int, Clin Nephrol etc.) and subject editor for Nephrol Dial Transplant, Ordinary ERA EDTA Council member and Chairman of the Paper Selection Committee for the annual ERA EDTA congresses (2011 – 2013).
