Markus Joerger MD, PhD

Dr. Joerger is attending oncologist at Kantonsspital St.Gallen and Assistant Professor of Clinical Pharmacology at Basel University. He graduated from medical school (University of Basel) in 1996. He did a Ph.D. (“Pharmacogenetics and pharmacokinetics in solid tumor patients”) at the Netherlands Cancer Institute and received his “Habilitation” (Privatdozent) in January 2012 under the supervision of Prof. St. Krähenbühl, head of the Department of Clinical Pharmacology & Toxicology at the University Hospital of Basel. Dr. Joerger is Chair of the SAKK New Drugs Development Group and chair of the Working Group Phase III Studies of the CESAR study group. His main area of research is drug development including immunotherapy in oncology.
