Markus Hengstschlager PhD

Prof. Dr. Markus Hengstschlager studied genetics at the University of Vienna, did research at Yale University in the USA and was finally appointed professor at the Medical University of Vienna, where he now heads the Institute for Medical Genetics. The award-winning and internationally recognized scientist teaches students and works in the fields of genetic diagnostics, basic research and innovation consulting. He is the holder of the Great Decoration of Honor for Services to the Republic and is among other things Deputy Chairman of the Austrian Bioethics Commission, Deputy Chairman of the Austrian Council for Research and Technology Development, Member of the University Council of the University of Linz and Head of the Academia Superior think tank.
