Markus Affolter

Markus Affolter came to the Biozentrum as a postdoc in 1988 and subsequently received a START grant from the Swiss National Science Foundation. In 2000, he became an Associate Professor and, in 2005, Professor of Developmental Biology.

He is investigating the cellular and molecular processes in the growth and development of organs and blood vessel networks. From 2005 to 2013, he was Director of Studies in Biology. Today he represents the Biozentrum in the Teaching Commission.
