Dr S. Mark Taylor has been practising Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in Halifax, Nova Scotia since 2001. Dr Taylor has been practising Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in Halifax, Nova Scotia since 2001. He currently is a Professor of Surgery at Dalhousie University. His expertise and clinical interest include rhinoplasty/nasal surgery, eyelid surgery, management of facial paralysis, facial skin cancer, facial reconstruction, and surgery of the ageing face. His practice also includes nonsurgical facial procedures such as botulinum toxin, facial fillers and chemical peels/lasers. Dr Taylor completed his medical school training and residency at the University of Western Ontario. This was followed with a one-year fellowship at Washington University in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Advanced Head and Neck Oncologic Surgery.

Dr Taylor is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. He is American Board certified in both Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Head and Neck Surgery. He is currently the President of the Canadian Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and also serves as a Canadian representative to the Board of the International Federation of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Societies. He also serves as the Co-President of the Canadian Association of Head and Neck Surgical Oncology. Dr Taylor is considered an international expert in his field and lectures nationally and internationally. He has published over 150 scientific papers and book chapters and continues to be very involved in teaching in the Department of Surgery at Dalhousie University.
