Dr. Mark B. Pochapin is widely known for his dedication to the advancement of clinical excellence, to humanism in patient care, and to the education of medical students and physicians in both the science and art of medicine. Dr. Pochapin is Director of the Division of Gastroenterology, Sholtz-Leeds Professor of Gastroenterology, and Professor of Medicine at NYU Langone Medical Center. He is on the Board of Trustees of the American College of Gastroenterology and on the Steering Committee of the National Colorectal Cancer Roundtable.

Dr. Pochapin graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science and Engineering degree in bioengineering and received his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College. He completed his residency and chief residency in internal medicine at New York-Presbyterian / Weill Cornell Medical Center, and a fellowship in gastroenterology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine / Montefiore Medical Center.
