Dr. Ault graduated from medical school at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York. He went on to complete residency training in Internal Medicine at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. He completed fellowship training in Critical Care and General Internal Medicine before serving 1 year as Chief Resident in the Department of Internal Medicine.
Mark now currently maintains board certification in Internal Medicine, Critical Care, and Emergency Medicine. His current practice is predominantly Procedural Medicine and Emergency Medicine at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Research interests include innovative procedural techniques and procedural safety.
Dr. Ault has been a pioneer in procedural medicine and continues as one of the primary proceduralists at the Cedars Sinai Medical Center Procedures Center. He has been a consistent faculty member of the Society of Hospital Medicine Procedures for the Hospitalist courses. His procedure skills include point-of-care ultrasound, ultrasound-guided vascular access, tube thoracostomy, thoracentesis, lumbar puncture, and paracentesis.
