Dr. Mark Ault was an active Cedars-Sinai physician for more than 40 years, joining the organization first as an intern in 1978 and remaining for his entire career. He studied at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York before undertaking his internship and residencies in the Cedars-Sinai Department of Internal Medicine. He completed fellowships in both General Internal Medicine and Critical Care Medicine in 1982, at which point he joined the medical staff and went on to serve as director of General Internal Medicine for 25 years.

Dr. Ault was an accomplished and dynamic physician who was board-certified in Internal Medicine, Critical Care Medicine, and Emergency Medicine, bringing expertise in all three specialties to his work, including his 38 years with the Emergency Department. A dedicated and deft proceduralist, Dr. Ault co-founded Cedars-Sinai’s Outpatient Procedure Center, serving as its director since 1989. In 2019, Dr. Ault was awarded the inaugural Master Clinician Award for "outstanding leadership in advancing Cedars-Sinai’s mission and providing technically outstanding, patient-centered care."

Dr. Ault will be greatly missed by his colleagues and patients and fondly remembered for his decades-long commitment to the institution and the wellbeing of our community. In his memory, we are raising funds to support specialized training and continuing education at Cedars-Sinai. Dr. Ault touched the lives of so many, and this is one small way we can help continue his important work.
