Mark Allphin is a Senior Research Director for KLAS Research, a research firm on a global mission to improve healthcare delivery by enabling providers to be heard and counted. Working with thousands of healthcare executives and clinicians, KLAS gathers data on software, services, medical equipment, and infrastructure systems to deliver timely reports, trends, and statistical overviews.
In his role, Mark plans, executes and oversees all KLAS research and projects in areas such as accountable care, patient engagement, and health information exchange. Mark is the author of several recent KLAS reports regarding Accountable Care Organizations and patient portals.
Mark has been in the health care technology industry for nine years. Prior to joining KLAS in 2008, Mark worked with various organizations including Novell and Infor. Additionally, Mark is an award winning journalist from his time as an editor and on-air radio personality. Mark currently sits on the board of directors for Utah’s local chapter of Health Information Management Systems Society. Mark holds a bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University and currently resides in Provo, Utah, with his wife Talara and their three children.
