Dr. De Ronde would like to follow up on last December editorial written by David Zughaft, Her colleague in the Nurses and Technicians EuroPCR Programme Committee and an EAPCI member.

David mentioned that network, collaboration and education is not only important at a national but also international level for Nurses and Allied professionals in interventional cardiology in Europe. She fully agree with David and support his statement.

As David, She was also invited in 2013 to join the EuroPCR community which She accepted very gratefully. As She have worked since 1982 in the still challenging field of interventional cardiology, She have been able to observe many evolutions and developments in many sectors. The position of nurses and technicians in the early 80’s/90’s was totally different from nowadays. Back then we were supposed to assist the cardiologist, take care of the patients, handle over all kinds of materials and devices but not as often as we have to do now. At that time evidence-based health care practices and patient care were not as common and known.
