Marj Speedy is an Aboriginal woman, 'Kooma' Tribe, south east Queensland. Her current position is Indigenous Family Support Worker at Wide Bay Women's Health Centre Inc., where she has been employed for over 16 years. She completed a Certificate III Working with People with a Disability, Aboriginal Primary Health Care Worker, Diploma of Aboriginal Family and Community Counselling (UNE), Certificate IV Working with People with Alcohol, and Other Drugs. Marj is a Committee Member of Galangoor Duwalami Primary Health Care Service, clinics based in Hervey Bay and Maryborough. Her passion is working with aboriginal women and families - supporting families to bring and keep Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children home - out of the child safety system.
