Marisa Freitas PhD

Marisa Freitas (MF) completed her PhD degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2010 at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Porto. In 2012, MF was awarded a post-Doc FCT fellowship, and in 2016 she was hired as a researcher in the project-NORTE-01-0145-FEDER-000024. In April of 2019, MF was hired as a researcher in the project POCI-01-0145-FEDER-029248. In 2020, MF won a grant in the Call for Individual Scientific Employment Stimulus from FCT. In 2021, MF was hired as an Assistant Researcher, becoming part of the permanent staff at REQUIMTE. Her high scientific competence is evidenced by the +110 papers [h-index of 40 (Scopus) and 23000+ cand 36 abstracts published in international indexed journals, 9 book chapters, 55 oral communications, and 140+ poster communications in national and international conferences.

Marisa Freitas was Principal Investigator of one funded project and participated as executive researcher in 20 projects funded by national and international agencies. MF is at the moment responsible for the supervision of several students: 3 PhD and 1 Master, and has completed the supervision of 1 PhD, 7 MSc, 17 academic stages, and 4 students on a mobility program. MF enjoys international recognition, evidenced by being a researcher in three COST actions [CA15129, CA16119, CA20121], an External Advisor in the Global Burden of Disease Studies Study, a peer reviewer for +20 journals (Publons- Web of Science ResearcherID-7427-2020), international scientific projects evaluator. Furthermore, MF carries out educational activities through invited lectures at graduation and post-graduation courses.
