Dr. Marion Solomon is in private practice in West Los Angeles, specializing in treating issues that are disruptive to her patients' relationships. She is on the faculty at the David Geffen School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry at UCLA, and Senior Extension faculty at the Department of Humanities, Sciences and Social Sciences at UCLA.

Dr. Solomon directs Clinical Training at the Lifespan Learning Institute in Los Angeles. Twenty years ago, she and her husband, Dr. Matthew Solomon Founded LifespanLearning institute, a non-profit (501C3) Educational and Clinical Institute, dedicated to the idea of bringing cutting edge research in fields related to psychotherapy. Through their efforts, Marion and Matthew Solomon continue to develop and offer conferences to mental health professionals. The UCLA/Lifespan Learning Institute jointly sponsor conferences focusing on a psychodynamic approach to psychotherapy.

Dr. Solomon has written and edited six books and dozens of papers on attachment and intimate relationships. She is author of “Narcissism and Intimacy: Love and Marriage in an Age of Confusion,” and “Lean On Me: The Power of Positive Dependency In Intimate Relationships.” She is Co-Author of Short Term Therapy for Long Term Change,” and Love and War In Intimate Relationships,” with (Stan Tatkin); Co-Editor (with Judith Siegel ) of “Counter transference in Couples’ Therapy,” Co-Editor (with James Grotstein and Joan Lang) of “The Borderline Patient,” and Co-editor with Daniel Siegel of “Healing Trauma.”
