Dr Aw is an Associate Professor in the Department of Paediatrics, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine (YLL SoM), National University of Singapore and a Consultant Paediatrician in the Department of Paediatrics, National University Hospital.
Her area of clinical expertise is in paediatric gastrointestinal disease, hepatology and liver transplantation. She is a member of the National Liver Transplant Programme. After completing paediatric training in Singapore, she spent 2 years with the Paediatric Liver Unit at King's College Hospital, London, United Kingdom. Her MD thesis (University of London) is based on clinical and research work done whilst she was there.
Dr Aw is actively involved in both undergraduate and postgraduate medical education, where she has an interest in the teaching of clinical skills and assessment. She has served on the Assessment Committee, YLL SoM, and was Chair of the Final MBBS OSCE committee for a number of years. In addition to being the Programme Director for Paediatric Residency Training at the National University Health System (NUHS), Dr Aw also co-chairs the NUHS Graduate Medical Education Evaluation Subcommittee and serves as the Associate Chairman, Medical Board (Education) for NUH.
