Marinis Pirpiris PhD, MEpi, MBBS

Marinis is the Director of State Chairs of the AOA and an AOA Federal Board Director. He is the immediate past Chair of the Victorian Branch of the AOA. He has been on a number of AOA committees, including the Code of Conduct Working Group, the CPD committee, and the AOA mentorship program. He is the current President of the Australian Orthopaedic Trauma Society and the incoming chair of the Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Trauma Society and AOTrauma Asia Pacific Regional Community Development Officer. He is the immediate past Chair of the AO Trauma Australian Council.

He works at the Royal Melbourne, Epworth and Cabrini Hospitals in Melbourne. He is a busy orthopaedic trauma and elective surgeon and is the past chair of the Cabrini Orthopaedic Department Craft Group. He is committed to philanthropy and education, and travels through the Asia Pacific region teaching for the AO Trauma group, AO Alliance and the Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Association. He is interested in leadership, governance and innovation and sits on a number of community and school boards. He is the treasurer of the Greek Community of Melbourne and Chair of the Board of Directors of Alphington Grammar School. He is also the President of the Hellenic Medical Society of Australia.
