Marina Frimer, MD, is a gynecological oncologist at Northwell Health Physician Partners Gynecologic Oncology at New Hyde Park. She is also associate chief of Research and Academic Development for Northwell facilities across central Long Island and Queens. She treats the full spectrum of gynecologic cancers, including complex gynecologic surgery.

Dr. Frimer completed an obstetrics and gynecology residency and a gynecologic oncology fellowship at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center. Her surgical training was largely focused on cancer and robotic surgery. She joined Northwell Health in 2016 and works alongside a multidisciplinary team that includes radiation oncology, medical oncology, radiology, pathology, and cancer genetics specialists. Dr. Frimer takes the time to carefully explain this multifaceted care to her patients, who appreciate her warmth, compassion, and attentiveness. “It’s important to understand what the patients are going through,” she says. “I’m here to listen and answer any questions they have.”

With a focus on endometrial cancer, Dr. Frimer is involved in clinical and translational research in collaboration with Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory and the Feinstein Institutes for Medical Research, where she is also an associate investigator for the Karches Center for Oncology. She is an associate professor at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell and has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications. In addition, she’s a member of the Society of Gynecologic Oncology, the American College of Surgeons, and the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
