Marieke Van Horck MD, PhD

Since 2018 Marieke van Horck has enjoyed working as a general pediatrician in Zuyderland. In addition, since May 2019 she has been specializing further as a pediatric pulmonologist, both in Zuyderland and in the MUMC +. In Maastricht, she also completed her training as a pediatrician and obtained her Ph.D. in research in children with cystic fibrosis.

As a pediatrician, she gets a lot of satisfaction from guiding children and parents, sometimes for a short time but sometimes for a longer period of time. Of course, it is nice if a child heals or no longer has any complaints, but especially with chronic conditions such as asthma, she hopes to be able to contribute to the normal functioning of the child and family. She likes to do this in consultation with those involved and together with fellow doctors, pediatric lung nurses, and nurse specialists from our pediatric lung team, a team of which she is proud.

Zuyderland offers her a challenging working environment as a large top clinical hospital with clear ambitions in the field of patient care, but also education and innovation.
