Marie Skougaard received her medical degree from University of Copenhagen in 2017. After graduation she was employed at the Department of Endocrinology, Bispebjerg Hospital, during 6 month of basic clinical training. Marie has been associated with the Parker Institute since 2014 where she joined the institute during a pre-graduate research year as a part of the ELECTOR pre-grant project team. The ELECTOR project aim to develop home-based monitoring of patients with rheumatoid arthritis. From 2015 she has been in charge of recruitment and day-to-day contact with ELECTOR project participants during clinical trial I and various pilot trials. Marie will be proceeding in being a part of the ELECTOR team during clinical trial II in 2018.

Since June 2018 Marie has been enrolled as a PhD student at the Faculty of Health Sciences at University of Copenhagen. The PhD project focuses on how to provide personalized medicines for patients with psoriatic arthritis (PsA). A multi-layered project combined by; 1) investigation of immunocellular signatures and mechanisms, and genetic properties including mRNA expression profiling 2) assessments of clinical manifestations and outcomes, and 3) examination of patient-reported outcome in bio-naïve PsA patients before and after treatment with biologic agents.
