Dr. Marian Hodges, MD, MPH, is a geriatrician, medical ethicist, and internist with background in palliative care, as well as co-author of "Help Is Here: When someone you love has dementia", a unique guide designed to aid family caregivers of loved ones with dementia. She is also a nationally respected speaker on dementia, ethics and palliative care. In September 2014, Dr. Hodges was named Bain Chair of Geriatric Medicine and regional medical director for geriatrics for Providence, Oregon Region.. Dr. Hodges will continue her part-time practice with Providence Medical Group-Northeast in Portland, Oregon, where she sees primarily older patients.

In 2011, Dr. Hodges received a grant to work on a tool to support families of patients with dementia, which resulted in a fruitful partnership with Anne Hill, the daughter of a former patient with Alzheimer's, and author of "Unforgettable Journey: Tips to Survive Your Parent's Alzheimer's Disease." This tool became their book, "Help is Here." They are now working on a second book for employed caregivers of persons with dementia who live in residences and not their private home.
