Marian Mckee PhD

Dr. Marian L. McKee is Vice President of BioPharma BioSafety Testing at Eurofins Biopharma Product Testing in Lancaster, PA, USA. She leads four laboratories that support viral safety testing of biologic products and biomanufacturing in accordance with GMP regulations. As VP Biosafety, Dr. McKee provides management oversight and strategic guidance to the Viral Clearance, Cell Banking, Viral Safety Testing, and Cell and Gene Therapy Testing laboratories. Before joining Eurofins, she had various scientific and leadership roles in the contract testing (BioReliance, Rockville, MD) and nonprofit bioresource center (ATCC, Manassas, VA) industry.

Most recently, she led a global team in the development and validation of analytical assays to support biologics biosafety testing and characterization with a focus on cell and gene therapy methods. After obtaining her PhD, Dr. McKee was a CRTA postdoctoral fellow and then a Staff Scientist in the Laboratory of Molecular Biology, National Cancer Institute at NIH in Bethesda, MD. Dr. McKee’s graduate research focused on the host/pathogen interaction of Escherichia coli O157.
