Dr. Werner-Wasik is the Enterprise Vice-Chair for Radiation Oncology at Jefferson Health, charged with organizing and supervising the delivery of harmonized, integrated, patient-centered, safe, and efficient care across all radiation campuses within the health system. Dr. Werner-Wasik is Walter Curran Professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology of the Jefferson Medical College, specializing in thoracic and central nervous system malignancies. She is particularly interested in the delicate balance between therapeutic intensification and toxicity management, as well as in PET-based response to radiation therapy in lung cancer.

As a Senior Physician Leader of the Clinical Trials Office (CTO) at the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center at Thomas Jefferson University, she oversees operations for cancer clinical trials originating in seven cancer Multidisciplinary Groups. She is the Contact Principal Investigator for the NRG Oncology at Thomas Jefferson University & Hospitals; the NRG Co-Chair for Publications and a member of the RTOG Foundation's Advisory Board. She has been the principal investigator of several clinical trials that help define the standard of care for lung cancer. Dr. Werner-Wasik serves as an Oral Examiner in Lung and Sarcoma for the Radiation Oncology Specialty Board annual examination.
