Maria Dolores De Fez Saiz Doctor in Physical Sciences from the University of Valencia. She is currently a Full Professor at the University of Alicante, and a member of the Spanish Society of Optics and the Association of Women Researchers and Technologists. She began her research at the University of Valencia, initiating the line of research in the field of color memory, the subject of her doctoral thesis. In 1999 she joined the University of Alicante and in 2010 she was one of the founders of the Optics and Visual Perception Group. Her research interests focus on visual perception, mainly color vision, collaborating in the development of algorithms for the simulation of vision in subjects with dyschromatopsia. She has developed software for colorimetric characterization processes of display devices (PC, smartphone, tablet), to implement tests aimed at evaluating color vision and contrast sensitivity. She has co-designed Optopad, a digital visual diagnostic platform based on a series of visual tests for low-cost portable devices, characterized colorimetrically, that allow the evaluation of chromatic and achromatic visual mechanisms.
