Dr. Maria R. Molina has 3 national certifications: including board certified in Adult-Gerontology Acute Care, Adult Acute-Critical Care Nurse Practitioner, and Critical-Care Registered Nurse. She has dual appointments from Cardiovascular Medicine and Cardiothoracic Surgery as a heart and lung transplant Nurse Practitioner at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
Maria Molina received her master’s degree as an Acute-Critical Care Nurse Practitioner from the legacy UMDNJ-SON in 2009. Since graduation, Maria has been working at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania as a heart failure/transplant nurse practitioner. With this position, she functions in multiple roles, i.e. clinician, lecturer, continuing education curriculum program manager, patient outcomes-researcher in heart failure/transplants.
Maria is a result-first, hands-on professional with zeal to progress that works collaboratively with her team members. She has been involved in several practice-based outcome studies and collaborated on over 30 abstract presentations and conference papers at a national and international level, including 5 peer reviewed articles, and 2 book chapter publications involving inter-professional collaboration.
Maria also volunteers as the director of education and professional development for the International Transplant Nurses Society-Delaware Valley Chapter and coordinator of Penn NP continuing education program. In addition, Maria has received various awards in recognition of her clinical and academic accomplishments.
