Maria Garside

Maria started training in anesthesia in Yorkshire in 1998. She became LTFT after having her first child in 2002. In 2008, towards the end of her training, Maria chose to leave in order to take up a part-time post as an SAS anesthetist, in order to be more available for her family at home.In 2011, she gained equivalence with CCT from the GMC via the CESR route, and became a consultant in Bradford in 2017. She has an understanding of the challenges of returning from an extended time off work due to her own experiences of both maternity leave and recovering from surgery on more than one occasion. She is interested in helping others make a successful return to work, and finds the GASAgain course a fantastic way of contributing to this process.
