Dr. Maria Joao Forjaz, Ph.D. is a Researcher at the Carlos III Health Institute. Her Clinical Interests are Quality of Life, Older Adults, Patient-Reported Outcomes, Rasch Analysis, Multimorbidity, Behavioral Insights, Public Health, Scale Validation, Ageing. She graduated from the University of Lisbon and obtained her doctorate in Clinical Psychology in 2000 from the University of North Texas, USA, with a Fulbright scholarship. She participates actively in the training of junior researchers and medical residents in public health and preventive medicine. Her research interests include scale validation and health indicators, quality of life, aging, multimorbidity, and the impact of COVID-19. Dr. Forjaz is the author of more than 100 articles in peer-review journals and several books and book chapters. She is an associate editor of the journal Quality of Life Research, a member of the European-funded join action PHIRI and she is a group leader at the Spanish research network REDISSEC.
