Dr. Margot Putukian, MD, FACSM, FAMSSM is the Chief Medical Officer of Major League Soccer. Dr. Margot Putukian is the Director of Athletic Medicine and Head Team Physician at Princeton University. She completed her undergraduate studies at Yale University and medical school at Boston University. She is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Sports Medicine. Dr. Putukian also serves as a consultant with Major League Soccer and is their Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Putukian is a past president of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, has served as a team physician for the US Men’s National Lacrosse team, and currently serves as Team Physician for the U-20 US Women’s National Soccer team. Dr. Putukian has been a co-author on several Team Physician Consensus Statements, the AMSSM Position Statements on Concussion and Mental Health, and the IOC Mental Health in Elite Athletes Statement. She has been an invited participant and co-author for the Zurich, Berlin, and upcoming Paris International Concussion in Sport Conferences. She serves on the National Football League’s Head Neck & Spine Committee, the IOC Mental Health Work Group, and the USOPC Mental Health Task Force.
