Dr. Sande’s interests lie at the intersection of technology and medicine. She has been involved in simulation-based educational research and the use of simulation as a means of proof-of-concept for novel technologies. Dr. Sande employs high-fidelity mannequin simulation to train students, physicians, nurses, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary teams. She has shared her expertise as a consultant with health organizations internationally. She has spent additional time taking graduate medical education and research coursework.
Dr. Sande’s area of interest is educational innovation as it applies to the field of medical simulation. Her work uses simulation as a platform for innovation in medical education and device design, as ultimately both benefit patient safety.
