Margaret Chu-moyer

Margaret Chu-Moyer is Executive Director, Research and Site Head, Amgen Massachusetts (AMA) for Amgen Inc. Margaret is head of Amgen’s Medicinal Chemistry group and is Site Head for Amgen’s Cambridge, Massachusetts research facility. She has been at Amgen since 2009. Prior to joining Amgen, Margaret served in a number of positions of increasing responsibility in the Cardiovascular, Metabolic and Endocrine Diseases therapeutic area at Pfizer Global Research and Development in Groton, CT.

Margaret received a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley and a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Yale University, where her research focused on natural products total synthesis. Margaret currently serves on the Boston Children’s Hospital, Technology & Innovation Development Office, Technology Development Fund Advisory Board, the Massachusetts Biotechnology Council Board of Directors and the American Chemical Society Medicinal Chemistry Long Range Planning Committee. In 2011, Margaret was recognized as one of Mass High Tech’s Women to Watch. Margaret has been married to a fellow chemist for the past 27 years and is the proud mother of three sons.
