Dr. Margaret Bynoe, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Immunology and Infectious Diseases at the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Long Island University in 1991. She received her Ph.D. from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1999 where she studied the molecular basis of steroid hormones in the development of the autoimmune disease, systemic lupus erythematosus. She received her postdoctoral training in the laboratory of the late Charles A Janeway, Jr. where she studied the immunological bases of Type1 Diabetes and multiple sclerosis (MS) and later became an Associate Research Scientist at Yale University School of Medicine. Her major source of funding is the NIH and also recently the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
