Margaret Andover PhD

Dr. Margaret Andover is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at Fordham University. Her research focuses on the development of interventions for NSSI and suicide, factors contributing to the expression of one form of self-injury versus another, functions of different types of self-injury, physiological processes, such as pain perception, in self-injury, and the effects of self-injury on psychopathology and behavior severity. Her clinical focus is on using empirically supported techniques to treat clients ranging in age from childhood to adulthood with a variety of presenting problems, including depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, aggressive behaviors, suicidal ideation and behaviors, NSSI, and borderline personality disorder.
