Marek Basler PhD

Prof. Dr. Marek Basler is a professor at the Biozentrum at the University of Basel in Switzerland, where he moved with his family after completing his postdoctoral fellowship in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at Harvard Medical School. Prior to moving to Boston in 2007, Prof. Basler completed his undergraduate and Ph.D. studies at the Institute of Microbiology of the Czech Academy of Sciences in Prague, Czech Republic. Prof. Basler went on to win the 2018 EMBO Gold Medal award, a prestigious award that is given annually to young scientists in Europe for their work in life sciences.
