Dr. Marcy B. Bolster is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. She is Director, Rheumatology Fellowship Training Program in the Division of Rheumatology, Allergy and Immunology at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH). She has been a rheumatology fellowship program director since 1999, initially at the Medical University of South Carolina (1999-2012) and subsequently at MGH (2012-current). Dr. Bolster's clinical interests are in general (all) rheumatology, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoporosis, and scleroderma. She has been actively involved in clinical trials in rheumatoid arthritis and scleroderma. She is a charter member, MGH Midlife Women's Health Initiative. She is the medical lead for the MGH Fracture Liaison Service, an interdisciplinary service with focus on the management of patients with osteoporosis who have had a fragility fracture. Dr. Bolster has a strong interest in medical education and participates in the teaching and training of medical students, internal medicine residents and rheumatology fellows. She is a member of several MGH education committees.
