Dr. Marco Rispoli, MD is an Ophthalmologist at the A.S.L. Roma 1. He studied Medicine and Surgery at the University of Rome "La Sapienza" where he graduated on July 26, 1995, with a grade of 110/110 and honors. The title of the degree thesis was “Ophthalmological semeiotics in the monitoring of pathology and systemic therapy”. Winner of the competition for entry into the Specialization School in Ophthalmology directed by Prof. MR Pannarale in November 1995.
From December 2000 to July 2003 he worked as a Highly Professional Medical Director at the Special Ophthalmological Emergency Service of the Policlinico Umberto I in Rome, with coordinated and continuous collaboration contracts.
Also in 2000, he began to collaborate with Prof. Bruno Lumbroso in the study and development of retinal imaging, with a particular interest in OCT, fluorangiography, and indocyanine green angiography. This experience has allowed him to participate as a speaker, moderator, and organizer in over 50 national and international conferences and courses concerning retina and diagnostic imaging.
In October 2010 he obtained the approval of the Company Health Management for the transfer to the New Regina Margherita Territorial Presidium (ASL RM-A) with Dr. Susanna Catalano for the establishment of a Level II Outpatient Clinic for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Pathologies Retinal. Since September 2017 he has been serving as Ophthalmologist Medical Director at the Retina Medica UOSD of the Ophthalmic Hospital of Rome, Department of Ophthalmology, UOC Surgical and Emergency Ophthalmology, directed by Prof. Ciro Tamburrelli.
He has performed over 300 cataract surgeries and over 5,000 intravitreal injections of therapeutic substances (Avastin, Macugen, Lucentis, Eylea, Ozurdex, Taioftal, and Jetrea).
