Marco Carlo Merlano MD

Marco Merlano is Director of the Medical Oncology Unit, Director of the Department of Clinical Oncology and Head of the Laboratory of Translational Oncology at the S. Croce and Carle Hospital, Cuneo, Italy. He graduated in medicine from the University of Genoa, and subsequently completed his specialization in Medical Oncology at the same institute. He was Visiting Scientist at Prof. WB Looney's radiobiology laboratory at the University of Virginia Medical Center working on the preclinical basis of the combination of drugs and radiation.

Previously he was deputy director of the Unit of High-dose Chemotherapy, Medical Oncology Unit, National Institute for Cancer Research, Genoa, Italy. Dr. Merlano has also held teaching positions in the specialization schools of Medical Oncology at the University of Genoa and at the University of Turin.
